Take a break! Do what you love!

So excited to start golfing with my husband! Tomorrow will be our first day joining the golf course! We get unlimited use, lessons and balls for our monthly dues..and its at a really nice golf course in one of the suburbs of Houston!

Today- we learned about the swing and alignment....tomorrow will be the bunkers!

Its amazing how a break from doing any studying/work/thinking yesterday really set me up for accomplishing things today! We woke up early and headed to Panera for some yummy lattes and breakfast...I finished most of my long assignment (woohoo!)

I know I have said this before- but when you are burnt out and EXHAUSTED just look up to Him. Ask for peace.

Last night, after relaxing and taking some time away from school and work and the craziness of life, I was able to wake up this morning and take a deep breath and smile and thank Him for everything. Sad to say, I get really busy and mornings just FLY by me.

If you are stressed out- just breath! take time away from what you think you HAVE to accomplish- chances are, your not getting far if your really stressed out, so whats an extra 2-3 hours away from it?

Do something you enjoy :) Praise the One who gave you life! Be with the ones that you love! then wake up and "get back to reality" haha

I am going to leave you with a song that Trav and I first heard on KSBJ. It is now a routine "wake up call" in the mornings- we listen to this song every morning before we leave our place. Try it some day, it will change your mornings!

Brain mal-functioning kinda day.

I can't seem to get any words on paper today- none for a blog, none for the 3 papers I have due in the next 48 hours, none for the huge presentation that is due next week...NOTHING!!!!

Im having one of those days...so...

I went to the mall and bought some cute shirts (all were on sale!). I also went to lunch by myself- which I don't think I have EVER done. This wasn't a quick in-and-out kinda lunch..it was a sit down..full service..bring me water please..lunch..and I was by myself and it was awesome! I just enjoyed my yummy food (woohoo French Onion Soup that was probably really really bad for me but I ate it anyways) and thought about NOTHING! The worst part was...I was so into "not thinking" that the waiter brought me my bill and I just handed him the card...he brings the receipt back and I was charged $23.00..for soup?!?! So then I had to have them refund it and all that stuff. And to think- I am usually the one who is starring at every single item that goes across the check stand and making sure it was rung up at the right price!

Do you ever have those days where your brain just isnt running full speed..or in my case, snail speed?! I think I used it too much this week!

Tonight is going to be a- relax, calm down, dont think about school work- kinda night.  I will wake up bright and early tomorrow morning and head to starbucks and get my study on...did I mention our new iPad that we are getting today? Yea about that..I over think that TOO! I walked into apple today and was all ready to buy one and couldnt get ahold of anyone so I left (that place is always a Zoo!). Then I debated buying a laptop (since mine broke and I use my iMac desktop but its so not good when you have a husband and a dog living in the same space as you are trying to write ground breaking articles! ha!)..So now I think ill just get an iPad- saves me money from buying a laptop- lets me do the bulk of the work away from my desktop and all that stuff. But yea, when Trav gets off were heading to good ol' Best Buy- because I cant take the Apple store 2x in 1 day.

I think an appropriate verse for today is:

Psalm 9:9-10 "God's a safe-house....The moment you arrive, you relax; you're never sorry you knocked."

If you are having a no-brain functioning day, like I am today, give it to Him. He will restore your energy. Sometimes, our brain is running faster than our legs can keep up and we just need to stop & catch up with it!

Show the world what you are made of!

So, the example I am going to use today is very superficial but it is what sparked my interest in this blog- so deal with it! Haha

I have been training since February 5x week and every time I leave the gym I feel sore, exhausted, hyper, sick and ready for the day- it's one awesome feeling and I love it! Well, today, my trainer decided to "switch" things up and have me train with some guys that are almost done with the INSANITY! workout (its a 60 day thing) and he wanted me to join them in their insanity workout today.

So, coming into this i was worried because a) i have never done it before and these guys were practically done with it and b) i had no idea what to expect..

Well- after 1 hour of jumping and moving all around..it was over...and I kicked all of those guys BUTTS!!! 5 months ago I couldn't even get through a 30 minute training session without feeling like I was going to puke my brains out..and today, after INSANITY! Day 50-something...I was ready for round 2!

I am not trying to brag- at all- I am still a ways from where I want to be..but...I want to use this as a point that we already know- HARD WORK PAYS OFF!

But really...those days I wanted to leave the gym before my last set or when I wanted to "pretend" I did 30 when I am only on 20...I am so glad I stuck it out and FINISHED HARD! I have never sold my self short on this training schedule and I figure "if I am paying for it- I better get my moneys worth!" The results of the hard work are not immediate..it has taken me 5 months to realize how far I have came and how much that hard work paid off..but, in time, it paid off. I cant wait to see where I am at in another 5 months from now!

We need to be like that with our lives! I know there are times when we want to go to church but were tired or we have stuff to do...or there are times when we know we should call up that person and "check in on them" but we 'dont feel like talking for an hour', etc. When those times hit- think about the result, think about the reward, think about why you know you should finish what you started.

When something is ignited in our mind and is eating us up with guilt because we haven't done it yet or we didn't do it at all- there is a reason. God sent his son to come down to earth and do save us- He finished what He started. Sure, it was hard, and sure, Jesus could have given up and said "im too tired" but NO HE DIDNT! HE got through it- He knew of the GREATER GOOD that was being done and He KNEW that the result would be bigger than anyone could imagine and He stuck it out!

When you are having a tough time with family, school, work, exercise, finances, etc...have discipline..have discernment..have faith...and keep it up! The results of your hard work will show up..and when they do ..you will be THANKFUL for every moment of pain, every ounce of discomfort and every time you told yourself "I am going to keep going. I will finish this. I can do it".

Get out there & show the WORLD what you are made of!
